OnTask & Learning Analytics API Workshop

February 18, 2019 @ 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Building 22, Ideation Studio
Blackfriars St, Chippendale NSW 2008

This workshop brings together system architects from multiple universities interested in the future of the OnTask architecture, and the Learning Analytics API (LA-API) architecture. Both are open source projects from nationally funded OLT projects, with the LA-API expanding the range of data sources that learning analytics services (such as OnTask) can reason about.

Workshop leads: Prof. Abelardo Pardo (Univ. S. Australia; OnTask Project Lead) and Dr Kirsty Kitto (UTS:CIC; LA-API).

  • OnTask is building momentum with several institutions looking to mainstream it, following successful pilots (homepage/article).
  • LA-API has emerged from the OLT-funded Beyond the LMS project using xAPI and other technologies to aggregate learner data from diverse sources, and provide ways to interrogate it for learning analytics purposes (homepage/CLA Toolkit)
