We extend a warm welcome to Jurgen Schulte, who has been appointed as a CIC Adjunct Fellow!
Jurgen Schulte recently retired from UTS after a fantastic career innovating in his teaching in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. He was in fact pioneering “Learning Analytics” in the early 2000s, before the term gained currency, running his own server and mail-merge software to personalise email feedback to his hundreds of students based on aggregated data from their engagement across multiple platforms and face-to-face teaching.
When CIC was launched in 2014, we saw the need for this infrastructure to scale, joined forces with other universities, and secured national OLT funding to launch the OnTask Project, releasing open-source software, which is now used in numerous universities. Jurgen also worked on several other UTS funded projects with CIC — check out all his CIC news stories from the archives!
We are therefore delighted that Jurgen’s expertise will continue to benefit UTS, as we continue our partnership with him as an Adjunct Fellow.
